Well, the old adage applies to contact paper too. This contact paper is VERY VERY thin and tears very easily. On the plus side it is easy to apply and bubble to remove but having worked with several other (more expensive) brands it was extremely difficult to work with due to the vinyl tearing when trying to remove the backing. Even ripping off a small strip of tape holding the roll together left a 1/2 inch tear. Also, the last two feet of the roll were so crumpled that I couldn't straighten them out even with a blow dryer on low heat. And that was after I cut off the last 3" which had such a noticeable crease that if you didn't want the 3" strip it couldn't be used. what you need when applying contact paper so I was able to complete my project with about 30% tear drop as well. On the other hand, the pattern was extremely forgiving and masked the overlap. I even taped a small 1" square to a spot on my closet where it tore and I didn't feel like wasting 4ft of paper cutting and reattaching again. I used this to cover up some old and ugly bathroom cabinets. and it REALLY worked. It would NOT work for countertops or desktops or anything that would wear out. It would, well, tear. Yes it's cheap but I would NEVER buy this brand again and get something really durable.
