I've worn hiking boots and shoes for decades. There are two qualities that the best have that this shoe doesn't have. One is a strong yet flexible element in the forefoot to protect the foot from rocks. The other is dirt-repellent soles. This shoe doesn't seem to have either. Thankfully, I use them for everyday use, but when I walk my dog in a dewy park early in the morning, the soles tend to collect a lot of dirt, which is uncomfortable. As a leisure shoe it is ok. But only three colors use the water-repellent "mesh" that should be standard in running shoes.
