Works well with Linux and Windows. I usually scanned to TIFF and used Tesseract (Google's command line OCR tool) to convert it to PDF. On Windows, I use Not Another PDF Scanner 2 (NAPS2) instead of the programs included on the Brother CD. NAPS2 is much more convenient for creating multi-page PDF/TIFF files. On Linux I use gscan2pdf. does the job. The disadvantage of the scanner for Linux is that the SANE driver for Linux does not auto-crop like the TWAIN driver for Windows, which makes batch jobs a bit cumbersome. I haven't found a Linux installation that's optimized enough for multi-page PDF/TIFF creation yet.
