Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Enhance Your Audio Experience with SVS Prime Elevation Speakers - Pair (Premium Black Ash) by Joseph Marquez

Much better than reflective, though.

I used Pioneer Elite Dolby ATMOS speakers with an additional built-in speaker. Maybe it's the room layout, but I've never been impressed by the reflective nature of the upward-firing speakers. Oh, I could hear the speaker working if I leaned over and listened directly to the speaker. I just didn't get any space fill or overlay effects. After installing the SVS Prime Elevation speakers, I now know what Dolby ATMOS is. I lined up my ceiling-side pair with the two fronts and moved "forward" a little toward the listener's seating area. At first I was a bit concerned that the ceiling mount would allow the speakers to move while suspended. I have used cover locks and they do the job very well. The speakers were not intended to be moved to allow them to disengage from the mounting plates, but after contacting technical support, SVS was reassured that the speakers might be slightly defective due to manufacturing tolerances and the need to make speaker mounting as painstaking as possible play when suspended from the ceiling. Having said that the speakers sound great and I was even surprised when I looked at one of the speakers as there was a very distinct sound and I even jumped in surprise. Customer support is great. If you have upward-firing speakers and are unsure if ATMOS is for you, I highly recommend installing in-ceiling speakers. If you don't feel like cutting holes in the ceiling and running wires through the rafters, I recommend these SVS Prime risers.
