Review on Olympus PEN E-PL3 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 14-42mm Lens, 12.3 MP CMOS Sensor, 3x Optical Zoom - Silver (Old Model) by Gunaraj Varga

No smart deal.

I really like this camera and have decided to keep it instead of the twice the price EPL5. It takes very clear pictures and copes well with outdoor conditions. Inside is a different story. I took a few indoor shots and they look very sharp at first, but if you zoom in a bit there's really noise. I would say that a kit lens indoors requires a flash or a tripod. I have great close-ups of flowers and bees. A small lightning clip is included, which even has its own velvet carry case. The battery is charged outside the camera in a charger with a thick cable. The set also includes a strap. I found the Olympus to be very well built and had a rotary knob at the top to navigate through the different settings. There are many menus to set up and use, but I don't need many of them to live with. I leave the screen setting on the macro so I just click on the screen and press ok and I'm in. I think you can make the menu as complex as you like, but I'll keep it simple. I'm still trying out different features, so I can't comment on many. I haven't tried video yet because my main focus is on the footage. I have a Canon SX50 that takes pretty good video so I'll try that later. I bought this camera for $259 and it's a great deal. It's hard to spend $499 on an EPL5 when it performs so well. Later, with this money, I will buy a better lens. Olympus has some great lenses within reach.
