I really wanted to like this fountain. It's very sweet and my cats love drinking from it, which keeps me from asking to turn on the sink. When I first got it, I made it exactly as the instructions said. I cleaned everything carefully and meticulously, even the stones. I only add clean big rocks and leave out any small sandy ones. I just poured filtered water, turned on the fountain and it was beautiful and quiet. The next day the engine noise. I thought it might be low tide. A little stuffed and waited. Now the sound is muffled, but not as quiet as the day before. So everything shaken out, cleaned again and this time the stones removed. Be silent. Great. In less than two hours, my cats hadn't even touched the fountain in that time, the motor started humming again. At this point I just try to ignore it. Since then I have been cleaning the fountain EVERY DAY. And the engine noise keeps getting worse. WTF? I woke up this morning and it felt like he was practically yelling all over my apartment. water poured out. Cleaned it up again. Connected. This time the sound of the fountain can still be heard. What the hell is that. Now I just got mad at that moment. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because my cats still love this item. I'll just throw it away. Please tell me if anyone is lucky enough to keep this piece! calm. I'm considering trying my luck with a new one as it makes my picky cats happy, but it's definitely not worth the annoying noise.
