Italian Greyhounds, like sighthounds, are a short-coated breed that does not require much grooming. However, brushing is always beneficial to reduce dandruff and improve blood circulation, which promotes healthy skin. Most professionals who show and breed IGs use beagle gloves, which are basically soft-bristled potholders, but they're expensive. My dogs are strictly pets, but I know the pros often use certain things for a reason. Before finding this brush, I didn't find anything that was as good for her coat. Normal dog brushes were too hard and cat brushes too soft. The size is not a problem either. Yes, it's big, but I've found it's more of a plus than a minus, even with a toy dog.
