If you've never used an electric lighter, you're missing out. I grew up with regular beaks and zippos. Bics regularly broke down and ran out of power, and Zippos, though sleek and fashionable, always needed fuel or flints. This is a whole new world of lighters. It comes with a charging cable that you can plug into any free USB port you have handy. I was a bit concerned as the charger didn't seem to want to be fully inserted into the cigarette lighter port. Despite everything, it loaded normally. This has a slide switch. Once you slide it all the way forward, push it down a bit and it will "glow". You get that little arc of light that will light your candle, grill, or whatever is going to light you up. We are slowly but surely putting these lighters in all the main rooms of our home. We live in Louisiana where storms and power outages can be a problem. I love to always have lighters handy. Of course I have to make sure it's loaded before the storm hits, but it's always first on our storm preparation list anyway. It's also a great addition to a gift bag along with a candle or cigar.
