I bought this because it was said to have the loudest whistle. I'll whistle it very loud if you're the one blowing it. My son and I tested it on each other without the included ear tips. When we got it we were excited, he blew first and I thought he was doing it wrong because it wasn't loud but he claims his ears were ringing. So I turned and blew hard and sure enough my ears were ringing. The noise seems to return to the fan. Now we were only a few feet apart and the person who didn't blow had no effect. It gurgles when you blow hard. The air exits the whistle halfway and comes back. The tip is firm without forcing out air or noise. Not for $11 I wouldn't buy this again, I would settle for a double barreled whistle as pictured. I don't have a decibel reading, but I'm very happy with the double-barreled whistle.
