Review on ☕ Bodum 1928-16US4 Chambord French Press Coffee Maker - Chrome, 1L (34 oz) by Matt Buchanan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great coffee, bad design.

I used to have a Bodum Press when I needed a quick cup and didn't want to brew a whole cup of coffee in the coffee maker. One day while cleaning the coffee maker I found so much dirt in it that I realized I could never use a drip machine again. SAD! So I took a break and pushed 100% and have never looked back. The coffee got better, and a little more cleaning by the day compared to the horrors that lurked in the innards of a drip machine set it apart from the competition. the opportunity to fill your carafe and take out a cup straight away. Unfortunately, after a few months of use, I found that it has a serious design flaw that really pissed me off with this purchase. Namely a pen. Designed to require no screws or rivets when assembled, the handle is held together by the tension of the metal cage that holds the glass chamber. Over time, something seems to have deformed and it continues to swing freely on the ground, which can be a bit intimidating as it ONLY happens when filled with boiling hot water! Had this problem happened before I would have returned it and looked at a different model or brand. It's sad because it really fits my needs and in every other way works exactly how I want it to and it makes great coffee but it makes it look like a cheap product. That's a shame.
