Review on πŸ“» Stay Prepared with the Eton Rugged Multipowered Portable Emergency Weather Radio & Flashlight: Green (NSP101WXGR) by Cindy Franklin

Cheap crap for portable audio and video

When they called Eton and asked them about their walkie-talkie, they told me it was their only waterproof walkie-talkie in production. I bit the bullet and spent about $55 on it. Part of my reasoning was that the price would be justified by its versatility. Boy was I wrong. My goal was to have a weather radio while traveling in the desert. I kept my radio in a pannier to better protect it on its first foray into the wilderness. It worked fine. I checked it again before another trip and it stopped working. Somehow moisture got under the screen and once it was charged the flashlight and radio continued to work until the battery died. Eton replaced my radio because it had a one year warranty. The next radio fell into the water next to the boat shortly after being hit (the cheap clip that is part of the radio fell out. It was there for about a second. It also got under the moisture shield and didn't work. I recently wrote to Eton and got a very bad response from the TC I will never buy a product from this company again and suggest you spend your money on something else.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • upgradeable ones
