Review on Shur-Line 2006701 640C Pad Painter for Interior and Exterior Use, 7-Inch Size by Evan Calvert

video clip. Which role. I hate dotted lines!

Bought this painter because of the one-piece handle versus the adjustable handle on the Shur-Line model. The poor quality of the material for the adjustable handle made it impossible to manipulate (sorry for the pun!) The handle moved and constantly had to struggle to keep it in place for the application. Plastic (more precisely MILCHKANNE plastic) does not withstand the stresses of painting large areas with a pad. This grip I'm using is at least stiff enough to handle the paint job without a fight. Currently. If you've never used a paint pad, it's better than rolling. No dots, no splashes on the arms, bottom of the armrests, glass. Nice smooth finish that looks good. But there are caveats to this device. First, more energy is spent when applying, the resistance of the painted surface is greater than when rolling, since the paint is applied to the surface in the form of a film, and not in spots, which require repeated rolling. But. When loading the pad, remember that excessive pressure on a properly loaded pad can result in a fall. Yes, there's a learning curve to using it, but with a rendered finish, it's well worth the time. No method is perfect, spraying is the gentlest, but who wants to spend more time dressing up, shedding clothes, dressing so you don't look like you're trying to achieve the finish you want on the walls want to achieve, NOT M. not to mention cleaning! I'm repainting the interior of my house with an undercoat, the finished product is worth it! Upper limit warning. Existing ceiling paint (when finished flat) will grab the pad and soak up the paint like a sponge, increasing the resistance of the pad. Also, another coat may be needed after drying due to the trajectories of the strokes left by the paint pad's handle. If you want a smooth, flat surface, this is almost certainly it. (Smooth ceilings. For stained or textured surfaces, use a thick roller and brace yourself for smudges and all-round fun!) Enjoy painting in a different way! (Think of the learning curve!)

Pros
  • Provides a smooth finish to slopes, clapboards, siding, walls, floors, etc.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
