I bought this to make my dog bed. She is older and accidents can happen while she sleeps. She weighs 15 pounds. The fabric is layered with a mesh backing to keep it in place. It doesn't look like plastic and doesn't rustle. The top is similar to terry cloth. It's made of bamboo and says it can be hung to dry. This is the only downside. I wish it was wider but it's my fault for not reading the description carefully. Easy to roll up and put in a dog bag.
