Review on πŸ”Š Sony HTX8500 2.1ch Dolby Atmos/DTS:X Soundbar with Integrated Subwoofer in Black by Charles Barney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Recommended with reservation

I was hoping for slightly better bass response and clarity based on the reviews, although it's certainly better than the built in speakers in my TV. I think the sound quality is pretty decent for the price. I'm not a big fan of most of the available presets, so I usually just set the output to neutral and the bass to mid. The controller is a bit complex and using it without a manual would be a nightmare, but luckily the manual is clear and structured so it wasn't too difficult to figure out how to use my Xbox with Dolby Surround Sound. Speaking of which, once I've figured out how to get surround sound to work, provided the speaker is set at the correct distance, it produces the sense of surround sound surprisingly well. It's not enough to pinpoint exactly what's behind you in-game, but it does add immersion to movies and games pretty well. HDMI 2.1 pass-through works exactly as it should. Having an input and an output is fine by me, but if you have two devices that you want to connect to the backhaul then you might want to consider an upgrade (although the HDMI arc will give all your TV-connected devices the audio playback enabled). on the sound bar). The system was easy to set up and could be wall mounted. I also bought this unit because it uses older technology and doesn't connect to various Bluetooth subs, so it should survive into the future. highlighted.
