- Beginner friendly! - Tips for users!

It took me a long time to choose between a kayak and a kayak for summer adventures and birthday. I've been kayaking for a few years, tried paddle boarding and loved it, but that was almost ten years ago - I think probably when they first came out. It is portable and compact for storage. Just in case you're new to the industry like me, they call these SUP boards "Stand Up Paddle Boards". 20 pounds and it's easy to carry in a backpack so I can happily take it to the river. I tried it on lakes first - I've found that I like paddle boards better for exploring lakes and playing sports as a beginner because I like paddling on calm water. I'll take a kayak for the river. I like them better for fast water. I have to say when I kayak here I often see younger people kayaking on the river as well. I just think it's something I need to work on. I also recommend starting by crossing your legs on the board and not in the water, otherwise it will slow you down and hinder your maneuverability. Then, when you're comfortable with that, kneel down and then get up afterwards :-) I was able to get up on the first day - I realized I hadn't gotten enough air in. The more air you add, the more stable it becomes. When it's particularly windy - the inflatables aren't that much fun - but we enjoyed every time we got them out. It was so much fun my sister bought one too so we could do it together. I recommend if you have any injuries like my volleyball shoulder catch a motorized pump to do the work for you, only the last few psi require some effort. I also recommend blowing it up on the shore near a water source and then going down. Make sure you have the right size Allen key to adjust your paddle and get outside and enjoy the sun and water. You will be so happy!
