Review on DeLonghi EC5 Steam Driven Espresso Coffee by Jake Hill

Great Espresso Maker --- Terrible Cappuccino Maker

I was so excited when this package arrived! I love making cappuccino and haven't been able to do it for a long time. However, I still cannot make a cappuccino. Part of the espresso machine works properly but the steam generator/milk frother never worked. I've tried EVERYTHING! At first I thought I just needed to practice with time and all since you can only froth the milk while the espresso is brewing. At least that's what the instructions say. I have not even been able to heat milk to a warm temperature with this machine. It makes me sad! The steamer is also very impractical. I'm not sure why they made it so short and with such restricted movement. I will keep trying this machine but it has been running for a little over a month with no success on the cappucino. I read the reviews to see if anyone had the same issues as me and I found almost everyone has them. I was also looking for some pointers to try. This machine ONLY works as an espresso machine! He really shouldn't advertise himself as a cappuccino maker. I've always had success with DeLonghi products, so I was surprised that this machine didn't work. I thought I might just have a bad one, but after reading that even people who love a car can't get a milk frother to work, I can see that this is bad design on their part. Again, if you're just looking for espresso. it's a good car for that. But if you are a cappuccino lover like me, I suggest another machine. It's a shame when everything works as it should!
