later I don't know if Toauto is better than similar devices but I can report that it works well and does what it says on the tin. I've always envied those who claim to have used the same soldering iron and tip for years that never worked for me. The most successful are probably those who carefully control the temperature, keep the iron at a lower temperature when not in use, and remember to turn off the power when the job is done. I've never been able to be so careful and spend too much time cleaning and maybe changing attachments. The benefit of Toauto is that it does all of this for you. It takes no guesswork out of setting the tip temperature, lowers the temperature if the iron hasn't been used for x minutes, and turns itself off after y minutes (I forgot the exact time). It heats up quickly, which makes it easy to reach the minimum temperature required for operation. Some may complain that the LED temp doesn't accurately reflect the temp of the tip: I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is then I can't tell you what time it is because of my watch is 10 minutes faster. In short, I like it, it works and the price is reasonable.
