I love my Coolpix S8200. LOVE everything about it - one of the best cartridges that can also capture great video and audio as well as great macro shots. In auto mode it focuses very well - sometimes you have to lightly tap the autofocus two or three times for it to fill the screen with those lovely little green rectangles that show all areas are in focus. We have good smartphone cameras, but we don't use them for "real" photos. Someone stole our S8200 in June 2013. Gave the police the serial number. I looked for another of the same type but none were new and used ones are very expensive now ($100 more than what we paid for). I think because it was such a good model. They called 10 months after the termination. He showed up at the pawn shop. They tried to make us go and pay for it. We refused and insisted they deliver it to us. In the end, the police admitted they had the means to pay the pawnshop damages, and they did. So glad he's back. The CMOS sensor is great. Yes, we also have a newer camera with an even better sensor, but the S8200 is still our favorite.
