Cute and colorful but not soft or plush.

Not soft. We use it for lap times in my class. The carpet looks like an industrial scratch. Now I'm sitting on a stool instead of sitting directly on the rug (which I used to put on my previous rug). It's colorful and cute, I get lots of comments and compliments. This is a great coziness for 20 or more children, but classes of 15 children can easily sit in a circle around the perimeter (sit on the rug, not the perimeter). More than 20-24 students had to sit on the outer edge of the carpet. I used a non-stick mat for extra softness and security (no slipping).
