Monkey hooks on my Sportster and factory grommets gave it the freedom to move. These polymer bushings are much tougher and once installed the handlebars feel solid again. It was pretty easy to install. Remove the old bushings, I used a 12mm deep bushing and a hammer to pry out the metal bushings then pry out the rubber with a flat head screwdriver. Install them without the metal sleeve first. They're stiffer than the factory ones, but if you line them up in the hole, insert the socket piece, and use a flathead screwdriver to gently insert the last bit, they pop in easily and straight. Insert the bushing from above and press in the bushing with a clamp. The assembly time was about 15-20 minutes.
