I find them *mostly* great for hiking to keep rocks and rain off my socks. However. The yellow cord running under your heal is really weak. I rubbed both cords in about a 10 mile ride. I replaced it with a much heavier gauge 4mm power cord for $0.80 from REI. This strikes me as a huge design flaw, especially when they could have used better material for just pennies more. Remember the $0.80 I spent was RETAIL at the B&M store. At the production level, it would probably cost them an additional $0.20 per kit.
