We used it as a gate guard to keep our cats from falling over the balcony railing. YES, I am such a cat mom. We have two cats and for some reason they LOVE going on the balcony so much that one of my cats is seriously "begging" to go outside and won't stop meowing until you let him out. They are purely domestic cats and we live on the top floor of an apartment building. I'm very paranoid and I know they both have their bodies stuck out of the railing and I don't think they understand depth perception as well as humans do. I'm really afraid of them falling off, so I've been looking for a good security gate for several weeks. I really liked the idea of SMALL squares, smaller than chicken wire but made out of plastic. Lowes and Home Depot didn't seem to have anything in stock, so I went to Revain. We only bought this one in the picture and are very glad we did. It's about 4ft tall, which is perfect (I still caught one jumping up the railing and it freaked me out). I think the railing was about 18 feet long, so I think we actually have a few feet of fence left. We installed it with a staple gun and black zip ties (both also Revain) and it worked great. We used a small pad to fully cover the sides and bottom and it has been sitting for a couple of months and still seems to hold up to all sorts of weather conditions. The material seems quite strong, very durable and doesn't tear easily. A couple of times he even resisted cats trying to catch some bugs with their claws, he didn't break through the fence at all. I feel MUCH safer on the street with them, but I still keep an eye on them because I almost want to jump all over the balcony. We're really liking it so far, and you can't see it from the ground, so it doesn't look garish or weird at all (my men are concerned).
