This is a lifesaver for those who don't want to shave! I apologize in advance for the long review, but I promise the details will help you make an informed purchase! -------- ----- ---------- BACKGROUND--------------------- ----- --- ----- --------------- I used to have my legs, arms, armpits etc professionally waxed once a month when I was in India. When I moved to the US I realized how super expensive it is here, especially on a student budget! I've tried waxing at home but there have always been difficult areas that have become inflamed and red because I can't keep the skin taut. So, like everyone else, I started shaving! The problem was that I had never shaved before. Maybe once or twice in high school, but also when my mom was babysitting me. i hated it I hated spending extra time in the shower. I hated that it had to be done more often. I hated cuts and razor burn. I tried shaving my arms once and it was a disaster. So I thought I should probably look for electric razors and I found this one! --------------------------------- ----Shaving: I think the main issue most people use Electric shavers have a close shave. Done right, it can give you a close shave. Hold the razor perpendicular to the surface so that the foil and both sides of the trimmer are in contact with the skin. The trick is to go back and forth over the same area multiple times. There is a slight spring action so you can press down very gently on the skin for a closer shave. If you have long hair, apply a little baby powder and run a dry towel over the area in the opposite direction of your hair growth to lift your hair. If you have very long, thick hair (or if you're the type of guy who shaves his legs), trim the pop-up trimmer first. Every time I used it, I used it straight out of the box to test it out on a small patch. Well shaved. I decided to wait 24 hours just to make sure I didn't have a reaction and charged it in the meantime. The blades began to spin faster. So I think it's a good idea to charge it between shaves. The instructions say that 12 hours of charging gives about 20 minutes of shaving, which sounds ridiculous at first glance. However, as a shaver, it took me 10-12 minutes to shave both legs, both arms and armpits. I think 20 minutes is more than enough. Wet shave: UPDATE After a few months of use, I tried the wet shave and was thrilled. This has become my method of choice over dry shaving. Since there was no risk of cuts like with a normal razor, my main problem of not being able to see in the shower with glasses on no longer bothered me. I was able to pass the same section several times. Just being in the shower meant I could quickly rinse the razor out instead of brushing my hair after each section and allowed me to shave better overall. I used shower gel or soap, not shaving foam. I've found that keeping the skin and razor very wet and slippery makes it glide easier over the skin. I shaved against the direction of hair growth to get a nice close shave. This method took maybe a few minutes less than dry shaving. Before the update: ___________________________ Since I hate shaving, I don't think I'd want to try this feature. The manual says I can use it with shaving cream and many reviews say your skin needs to be damp to shave. If I ever try that I will update this. I think a wet shave isn't necessary when I get very good results with a dry shave, but I find this a good feature if that's your only option, for example if you share a hotel room with friends and don't have a personal life ._____________________________ Regrowth: Surprisingly, the regrowth wasn't as dull as a regular shave, which gave me the confidence to shave my arms! For a good shave, you need to let it grow a little longer than usual. Cleaning: very easy to clean. It comes with a double-ended brush to detangle your hair while you shave. After I'm done shaving, I remove the head and rinse both the head and the inside of the blades with water. It's a good idea to press the faucet with your finger so that a sharp, powerful stream comes out. I rinse the head first, then put some hand soap in a cup of water and leave the head in while I clean the inside of the blades. I first rinse the blades in a sharp stream, then just dip the blade in a cup of soapy water and shake it, and then rinse both the head and blades. I use a water tip to get to the corners of the plastic inside. To dry, I shake both pieces vigorously to drain the water, put the top back on to protect the blade, and let it air dry for a few hours. Once I know it's completely dry, I charge it up. Ergonomics: It is very comfortable to hold for dry shaving and washing. Fits well in my small hand and doesn't slip out of my hand. I don't know if the surface gets slippery when shaving with wet shaving cream. The button layout is convenient, allowing you to start and stop the shaver or open and close the trimmer with the thumb of the hand you're holding it with. I find the design comfortable for both right- and left-handers. The side of the blade is large enough for a quick shave and small enough to get around hard-to-reach areas. Portability: If you have the right carrying case, it is easy to carry. The pouch that comes with the kit is too small to hold both the shaver and the charger. This is my only complaint. Also, it is not too bulky and heavy for travelling. Durability: Time will tell. I've only had it for a few weeks and have used it 3-4 times and so far so good. The blade and foil are interchangeable, so that's a good idea. Otherwise, if you read the manual, follow the instructions, keep it clean and charge it in time, do everything in your power to keep the product working. If anything goes wrong or I run into any problems I will come back and update this. Overall I think it's a good product, very affordable (I bought it for 14.99 new price 29.99 which is still great if it lasts more than a year), it does its job well, without cuts and cuts, and it's FAST! If you found this review helpful, give it a thumbs up! If you have any questions please leave a comment below and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Have a nice day! :)
