Great printer great customer support

That was a great printer. I have owned many different large format photo printers over the years, mainly Epson, Canon and HP. It is by far the best in terms of print quality and ink efficiency. I've printed quite a bit with 17x22, 13x19 and 8x10 and so far the ink levels are over 70% of the mile and I've been amazed at how many prints I can get from one set of cartridges. The initial charge when you first set up the printer will empty quite a bit of ink which will fill the printer's tubes, but the second set of cartridges you use will last MUCH longer. The initial charge used about half a new ink cartridge, but the filled tubes are huge, so that's understandable. I haven't had any problems with constipation. I set up the printer so that it never turns off, only the screen goes to sleep after a few minutes. The reason for this is that some ink is removed at startup to prevent clogging - simply turning the printer on prevents this, and when idling with the screen off the printer uses less power than an LED lightbulb. I print a test jet pattern every week if I haven't printed that week to keep the ink from drying out. This uses a minimal amount of ink while ensuring no clogging occurs. I have an old Pixma canon that I rarely use and have now given up - I haven't printed without clogs in 10-11 months. I expect the Pro-1000 to have similar anti-clog characteristics, but I'd rather play it safe and not test that theory. My first printer was recalled and all printers sold after February are new models with the recall patch already applied. Apparently there was an issue where the printer could spill ink on the table or whatever the printer was - nothing dangerous. Canon sent me a brand new printer overnight without sending the recalled printer, after which I was able to return my old printer in the box the new one came in. The cleaning case for my troubles has over $730 worth of consumables. I would have no hesitation in recommending this printer to anyone in the large format photo printer market. Black and white images are stunning, color images are brilliant and borderless printing is faster than most comparable models. I wish this printer could support roll paper, but that's my only complaint and 17 x 22 is good enough for me 99% of the time. If you have doubts about choosing a large format photo printer, then this is the one for you. I loved my Epson P800 until I bought it and started using it - my P800 sold out about a month after I got the Pro-1000.
