My multimedia/study room is anything but quiet. With my projector running, HEPA filters, and a computer server with 10 NAS drives spinning constantly, this is bought media, to say the least. Not loud, but I don't want to meditate here. Somehow, a few days ago, the level of noise I was used to started seeping into my consciousness. The level has risen, something has changed. Luckily, my EATX case only had a 200mm Cooler Master fan. I don't know how long it twitched, but it had a new vibration that unbalanced the case and increased the noise level to unacceptable levels. I immediately removed the fan and ordered another one from Amazon. I bought this fan because of the higher price and good reviews. It arrived 48 hours after my order. 25 minutes after it arrived it was installed and I threw the extra parts and box in the attic (yes it should have had the extra parts). Assembly was easy and the attachment points are actually pretty awesome. All my other fans are tightly mounted with screws. they hang on soft elastic pegs. All the necessary places are laid on the fan and on the attachment points. It's only been running for 30 minutes now, but adding it to my server has added 0 noise to my room compared to how it's been running since I removed the old fan. I suppose if the room were quiet I might be able to hear something, but that's well below the ambient noise level of my media room.
