. There is no remote control. I don't care, and since I only found out after the fact, I guess it doesn't matter. For the price I was just happy to get two candles. After my ex-wife and I separated 17 years ago, I would often light a candle before I went to bed. I don't like total darkness, but I also don't like night lights. I liked the comfort it offered, like a crackling log fire. Anyway, I've always had sinus problems. I quit smoking a year ago and found I still wake up with black phlegm. Last week I bought a new candle (I've tried hundreds in 17 years!) and lit it as I went to bed. The next morning I woke up and my throat and nostrils were full of soot! The candle was even on the other side of the room! I googled about the dangers of scented candles and found that they are dangerous and can cause breathing problems! So I ordered them and they do their job well. It's not as bright as real candles and that "flicker" effect is barely noticeable, but it's still fairly realistic and still gives off that soothing, flame-like light that I love to fall asleep under. Not sure how long the battery will last, I only used them a couple of nights left them on all night and they still work. Again, there was no remote in the kit and I don't need it.
