I bought these to have the right jewelry for my earrings, nose piercing and septum piercing. I was disappointed that it's a matte silver than the bright shiny silver in the photos, which I don't like. I saw that some reviewers were allergic to them and as I have a fast acting nickel allergy I gave them a try. in my ears before switching my recent septum piercing to one of these. I wore them for about 5 days with no reaction whatsoever in my ears - no rash, discoloration or swelling so I went ahead and changed the septum jewelry. There was no reaction there either and everything went smoothly. By far the hardest part was closing them, even in my ears when I could move them around and see what I was doing in the mirror. I recommend using sterile gloves for a better grip, especially if you have fingernails. In general everything is fine, but I'm looking for something more shiny.
