We bought this for our college freshman knowing it was the most unsafe place to park a bike outside. Our initial reaction was that it was too big and heavy, but after chaining it up we were grateful that it was large, allowing it to fit easily through his mountain bike frame and luggage rack. The optional front wheel cable is also convenient and easy to use. From a design perspective, we like the yellow rubber at the end of the shaft as the entire shaft is uncoated, although I'm not sure how long it will last. Also, the locking mechanism is at the bottom of the middle, which seems like a smart place to prevent rain and sleet from getting in and jamming the lock like it's on the end. The best part is that it comes with 5 keys and a key code. We sent two with our newcomer and left three at home for loyalty reasons.
