Heavy Duty Lock with Easy Install Frame Bracket

Installing the lock bracket to the bike frame was easy. The part that holds the actual lock unscrews from the part that goes around the bike frame to allow easier access to the two screw holes. The screws stick out a bit on the other side, but in my setup they're under the seat so they shouldn't scratch you anywhere. Another suggested placement for the lock holder was on the frame that connects the seat to the handlebars, but my frame isn't round at this point so that doesn't work. It fits…

My bike was stolen with this lock

I was happy with this lock until my bike was stolen. The thief managed to cut the cable and took my bike and cable with him. The bike rack stayed in place undamaged. Luckily I found the thief who was selling my bike on Facebook and was able to return it. In the picture posted, the U-lock was still on the frame, so I know they cut the cable. When I met the thief to "buy" the bike there was no U-lock so apparently they found a way to remove that as well. Of course, if you do not want your bike to

    Great lock for cycling

I wish it was a little wider so it fits right through the tire and frame but it only fits from the side. I love it. It has an excellent rating apart from being too small to fit on a frame, wheel and bar. It also has a great locking mechanism where it locks both sides. So once it's cut you can't twist and open it, you'll probably have to cut both sides of the lock. The clip is great and I have attached photos. The installation took me 5 minutes. You can be sure it won't fall off by attaching a…

    Good protection for your bike

I am very happy with my Pitbull lock, no bike lock protects against theft, if someone really wants your bike they will most likely get it. That being said, most successful people who see it properly installed on their bike will likely move on. The average thief is lazy and not particularly smart otherwise they wouldn't be thieves, looking at all that hardened steel is intimidating and looks like too much work and he'd better have plenty of time and some good tools. My wife and I park our bikes…

    Compliance Description - Solid Lock

We bought this for our college freshman knowing it was the most unsafe place to park a bike outside. Our initial reaction was that it was too big and heavy, but after chaining it up we were grateful that it was large, allowing it to fit easily through his mountain bike frame and luggage rack. The optional front wheel cable is also convenient and easy to use. From a design perspective, we like the yellow rubber at the end of the shaft as the entire shaft is uncoated, although I'm not sure how…

A must have for all bike lock owners.

Received the OnGuard Pitbull U-Lock and Cable Lock combination today and am impressed with the product so far. I did some serious research before deciding on a lock and found the Pitbull to be the best value for my budget. I ride a 1997 Trek 1220 that costs about $250-$300. The idea of spending 10% of the value of your bike on a lock seems pretty silly since it's impossible to find a decent lock for $25. If you have a bike that needs locking but isn't too expensive then this is a good choice…
