pencils fit perfectly! They matched well and had a wide range of colors. What I really liked was the consistency of the colors. The color on the pencil matched the color of the pencil both dry and wet! That way you'll know exactly what color you'll get when you put it down. I've attached a drawing I made with them, nothing special just tested them. I colored it and sanded everything down to a smooth tone, then added some texture and a bit of smudging. I could have made the colors more vibrant, but that was just a test that failed (don't worry about the places where you see black spots, too bad I started painting before the ink was completely dry ). Only one star deducted for the case, case good, well made, holds pens well, only one problem. There are 38 pencils in a case, 48 pencils in a box, looks like if you sell a pencil and case set you want a case that contains all the pencils, again how do I know: PI just added some extra space on the page at the end. :/ BTW, one of the first things I did when I got these pens was quickly (and accidentally) drop them onto the concrete floor, which was only covered with thin old carpet. I thought they would all shatter into a million pieces, but no, they all survived without a single scratch. So points for durability.
