These do just what they claim--they offer good support and smoothing/slimming. I'm a big fan of leggings and am always on the hunt for a durable, opaque pair. These have the added benefit of keeping problem areas neatly slimmed and tucked away. According to the size chart, I was on the line between the L and the XL. At the manufacturer's recommendation, I opted to size up. However, I ended up sending the XL size back for a size L because I could feel a bit of looseness in the waistband and through the thighs/legs. I was concerned that over time, between washing/drying and wearing it, the legging would end up stretching out and being too loose and less slimming. The size L ended up being a bit more snug (I actually preferred that fit), but less opaque through the butt and thighs. For that reason, I wear them under garments where those areas are sufficiently covered. I'll be purchasing more in the size L as these begin to age/wear out.
