These are the best headphones I have ever owned and I have bought over 100 sets. The length of the cord and the fact that it's wrapped in nylon is a really good thing because the first thing that almost always breaks is the cord. The microphone is comfortable and sensitive, but very flexible and easy to set up. The headphones seem to work well without the USB port plugged in, but if you want to be cool, plug that in too. The earbuds sit comfortably on my head, but the only downside I've found with these earbuds is that they get a little warm in the ears with long periods of play. I think if your ears are warm, get up and drink a glass of water, "be healthy and keep playing."
