These are a little more solid feeling than a similar pair that I recently ordered. While not feeling bulletproof, they at least feel solidly put together and like repeated unfolding of the petals isn't going to break them. They put out a bright white 'day' light, and it's a consistent light without flicker. They turn on instantly - centre light barrel and the petals all illuminate at the same time. The petals fold forwards to provide a flat light surface around 10" in diameter.The unit gets warm, but not uncomfortably / worryingly hot, and with a standard bulb thread, will screw into household sockets just fine. I use these on tripods with sockets when working in the garage, and the the light they throw on my work is great. A big wide blanket of un-tinted neutral light. Two came in the pack, and they feel like bargains at the listed price.
