These are ok. They keep water off the ground but without the grooves - they also keep water where it hits your shoes. In and out of the car in snow and ice and you can be damn sure you'll end up with a nasty surprise of freezing water in your shoes. The lack of a lip on the front of the bag makes them difficult to empty without spilling. So you either wait for the water to dry on its own, which doesn't happen in winter, blot it with a towel, or try to drain it and end up with water right where it shouldn't have gone. However, they are likely to do well in sandy or muddy conditions as they are fairly easy to clean. All in all there are better options out there and I wish I had chosen one of the other options instead.
