This monitor stand does what it is supposed to do, hold the monitor, except this one is very stable. The stand that came with my monitor was too short so I used it first for books (something e-books can't do) and then for the stand, an overpriced box that bounces back and forth all over the place trying to adjust the screen slipped or tip to one side. This stand allows you to tilt your screen for easier viewing, and the round base has a rotating ring to keep it from scratching your desk. This allows you to slide the monitor to the side for someone else to see without you having to move. The only thing I find useless is the vertical shift. First, browsers don't support it, and reading an e-book this way is very similar to reading the end credits of a movie. It annoys me, it might be helpful for others. Finally, like many others, there are no instructions, but the assembly is not difficult. The illustrations are good enough.
