I wear a size 6 or so in jeans and more of a triangle shape (so, my hips are certainly evident), and even at it's most sinched this pack is too big to sit on my hips.
I ended up tying a knot in the band and that works well, which is great because the overall look of this pack is awesome. But yeah, if you're a child or have smaller hips, just know that there's a strong likelihood it will be too big for you.
