Heater heats up quickly, heat output is impressive and warms my 12 x 12 foot bedroom in just minutes. It smelled short when first started, but it was even shorter than I expected. The timer and remote control, which are pretty basic, work well. The temperature setting allows the heater to cycle on and off over time to maintain the room temperature. I like that a device in this price range has a removable and washable filter. I gave four stars because we can't give half stars, it's really more than three and a half stars because. . . Cons - The display is on top, the device uses the same beep for everything. So you can't see the temperature or any changes you make to the system. I wake up in the middle of the night it's cold and I want the room to be warmer so I grab the remote control there are a few beeps and. . . I have no idea if I changed the fan, temperature or swing mode. You have to get up and look at the top of the device to see what's what. The temperature only changes in increments of five (5) degrees. Why? I like a certain level of comfort and at least I find it very difficult to be comfortable at 75° when I want 72° and 60° is too cold when I would prefer 63°. It may be picky, but I see no reason why the heating in 2020 should only run at five-degree cycles. I have no idea what the swing function does. The device does not rotate and has only one exit. . . what to do? The instructions don't mention this. (here's the edit) Found another scam, enough to downgrade to three stars. I don't like it when my room is hot, there is more than enough heat. I'm quite happy with the set temperature of 60°, or if it's a bit damp and humid, 65°. For example, turn off the device when you leave the house and don't want to leave the heating on when you're not at home, and it defaults to 70° when you turn it back on! That's easy. . . aggravating! Who makes these arbitrary decisions and why? That's stupid. Also, the guide says it will start with the settings you used previously. It is not.
