As mentioned earlier these lids warp terribly in the microwave despite the description saying 'microwave safe' whilst last year's dark blue and more durable lids are great. However my main problem which now worries me a lot about using them for hot food or transferring from the freezer to the microwave as people have said is that I put spoonfuls of not very hot food in one and it suddenly and broke with an explosion. in my hand Glass shot all over the place - thankfully not in the eyes, but if a child was standing next to me the glass would be at eye level. It splintered everywhere - so not only was my lunch ruined, but so many pieces flew so far that I keep finding tiny pieces. The bowl was taken out of the cupboard and the meal consisted of chunks of salmon in a Japanese dish, so I don't think that was outside of Pyrex's scope. This combined with the awful lids is prompting me to buy alternatives and am seriously considering throwing it all away - I have 8 that I use for leftovers, soups etc. I've been using Pyrex for years with no problems, but this was new - and coincided with a decline in the quality of lids - which now seems to have spread to glass as well.
