As many of you know, the main problem and the main cause of oil leaks and rough idle on the GM 1.4L Turbo is the rubber valve in the intake manifold. As soon as this disappears or does not work, the valve cover membrane soon fails. GM now pays to replace valve covers but not intake manifolds. So if you still want to put on valve caps and connect the problem, that's fine. However, this is your permanent solution. Google "cruzetalk pcv issues" for more information on this apparent defect. You can either get a repair kit from the CruzeKits website or buy one (or another GM distributor that will fail again). It has a piece of plastic behind the rubber tab that should hold it in place. It fits 1x1 and bolts on as expected. You use the supplied fuel rail bolts and the rest uses existing hardware. As for using a throttle body spacer, the bolts I had were too long or the holes weren't threaded all the way through. I put a drop of oil in each handle and slowly went down and unscrewed each bolt, cutting more threads. In the end it worked and the throttle body and gasket are tight. This is a tremendous value that will clear many engine codes including: P0171, P0106, P1101, P0507, P0299, P2096 as well as rough idle and oil consumption. You will need to book about 1 hour vacation for a very experienced mechanic, maybe 3-4 hours for a weekend warrior and a full day if you are just learning to watch youtube videos to install this.
