Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Corki-15 Clipless Platform Adapter Pedal: Ultimate Shimano SPD Speedplay Upgrade by Charles Thomas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Dangerous, not recommended for most people

I've used them on about five 10 mile rides, just a few one way rides when I needed regular shoes at my destination. On two of those rides my foot slid forward causing the pedal to simultaneously turn upside down (because they are so super heavy) and then literally step over my foot and ankle with the weight of me and my bike at 15+ mph . I have no idea why it didn't tear my ankle apart from a few cuts and bruises. I have bikes with SPD, SPD SL, regular flat pedals and now these. I know how to ride, I know what I'm doing, but they aren't inherently balanced enough to be used in most situations. I've never had a single problem in hundreds of miles on regular flat pedals. They just don't behave the same. They do exactly what they're advertised to do, but due to the extremely heavy nature of this setup, it's incredibly dangerous for anything but very light, slow rides while paying close attention to where your foot is and how strong you are. keep pedaling. I took them off because it's not worth serious injury. Leaving 3 stars because the fit and finish is good and they technically work it's just not a good overall solution.

Pros
  • Pedals and Cleats
Cons
  • So far so good
