Review on Caframo Chinook 2 Speed Clean White by Amber Byrd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite fans are table fans

I use these fans everywhere: bedroom, office, kitchen. Airflow: Excellent, lots of air, probably due to the lack of a case. Two speeds I would call medium and high. (There is no "low".) Safety: Touching the moving blades doesn't hurt. (This probably does not apply to young children, the sick or the elderly.) If you accidentally touch them, it will be very shocking, especially for those who are not expecting. Noise: Quieter than most fans at comparable airflow settings. Doesn't bother my Cube Mate. However, especially with age, it can cause strong vibrations on the surface it is standing on if the surface is not heavy. This can be alleviated by placing a rug or two underneath. (The little rubber feet don't help at all.) Durability: Good, better than others I've tried. I've had 10 in 8 years and the average quiet life (no rattle) is about 9000 hours of use (about 1 year of 24 hour continuous use). I've taken them on trips and carried them in my luggage with no problem; The head rotates down to a position where the blades are partially protected by the stand. Overall, the unit "feels" more durable than other fans I've tried. One day I noticed that one of them was moving slowly due to some friction between the blades and the body. This was corrected by slightly "pulling" on the hub of the blade to push it away from the body. I've never had a case where none of them worked fully (I throw them out when they start rattling). Ease of Use: Unlike some fans I've tried, flipping the switch is easy with one hand. The corner swivels up and down easily. There's no horizontal adjustment and it doesn't rotate automatically. When adjusting from the front, I usually have to manually stop the blade so I can reach the head to rotate it.
