Review on Deeper PRO Smart Sonar - Portable WiFi Fish Finder for Kayaks, Boats, and Ice Fishing on Shore by Scott Ward

Just like me

I've searched the internet for a quality review of this product that relates directly to ice fishing and has been difficult to find. I still bought the Deeper Pro and used it a lot last winter. I hope this helps those of you who, like me, are wondering how it's holding up. First, some of the reviews talked about Deeper's responsiveness with the appropriate app on your smart device. While I haven't officially noticed any lag, I can say I never noticed any when using it on the ice. Thanks to the Wi-Fi signal, it seems to provide you with updated real-time data. The Deeper Pro has 3 different modes and will typically use either the Flasher or Standard mode when ice fishing. Standard mode seems to me to be more accurate when ice fishing and show what's under you more clearly than Flasher mode. Despite this, the flasher and standard mode work flawlessly and have helped me catch more fish than without. The third mode is for being on a boat, which I haven't used yet. Battery life for this on ice is around 4 hours, maybe a little longer but less than advertised. It's been fairly consistent since I got it, and nothing that's deteriorated over time. I would suggest that the cold environment associated with ice fishing will affect the battery more than if it were Daylight Saving Time. While this is a lot smaller than your flasher, I used a portable charger to get around this. The Deeper app gives you constant battery life feedback, and once it's almost empty I take it out and charge it, which only takes about 30 minutes to get back to a full charge. For some, this will be the deciding factor as a regular flasher will likely last all day without you having to. deeper. Signal interference is enormous and there is no way to compensate for it. While you can still see the fish on your screen, there's definitely some feedback and that makes it more complex than it needs to be. I haven't had this with anyone else who has a real flasher, I suppose with the power a traditional flasher gives you the feedback can beat what you read deeper. If I ever go fishing with someone who has a flasher I'll be sure to let everyone know how it went. What I have said may seem like a negative review but personally it is not. I just want you all to really know what to expect when you buy this for ice fishing. Although it has some disadvantages compared to a traditional flasher, its advantage is portability. You can't put a flashing light in your jacket pocket and walk around with it. It's also as light as a cell phone, another plus. I've spoken to many of my ice fishing friends and they all know someone who has bought a Deeper and heard only good things. This will help you catch more fish just like me. It might not be as accurate as a real flasher, but it can still get the job done. If you're in the same position as me and don't want to spend at least another $130 on a flasher, buy one and you won't be disappointed. If you can afford $300 for a flasher for the initial setup, buy a flasher, but at the end of the day, buy something that will make you happy. By swapping out some of the bells and whistles that a real flasher offers, you get more mobility and comfort when running and shooting on ice.
