Review on πŸš— LELink Bluetooth Low Energy BLE OBD-II OBD2 Car Diagnostic Tool for iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Android with Configurable Auto On/Off Feature by Casey Tatum

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Has worked well so far

If I had written this review two months ago I would have given the LELink Bluetooth adapter 5 stars. There's nothing to configure, so it's easy and it just worked. I've used it with my iPhone running iOS 8 and then iOS 9, both with no issues. I just got an iPhone 7 (running iOS 10) and tried to use the adapter but the app no longer connects - it tries and then becomes unresponsive. I have to exit the app to try again. Also, when I click connect, a popup in the app tells me that I don't remember this happening before. It prompts me to select an LELink adapter, then lists my Apple TV, my Macbook Pro, and an unnamed device. I chose the unnamed device because the other two options are obviously wrong, but maybe my adapter is actually dead and the unnamed device is another Bluetooth device broadcasting nearby. I'm hesitant to buy another adapter because 1) I don't know if it's just a software issue that can be fixed with an app update, and 2) if the adapter fails after just 15 months, it's closed early. I've seen some other error mentions here, so I'm wondering if these devices are just poorly made and have a high error rate. If that's the case, I'd rather buy something else that's of good enough quality that its lifespan is measured in years, not months.
