Danger of Unnecessary Video Connection: Poor design and danger
The hard plastic portion of the male end sticks out a full 1.25 inches from the side of my computer, and the cable is also quite thick. Therefore, if I place my laptop within 1.75 inches of the side where the connector will bend, there is a risk of damaging the internal parts of my laptop's video connector. It will be a disaster if it happens at an important presentation and it will be a big problem if my video port breaks. Note that there is only 1/16 inch clearance between the bottom of the connector and the table top. connected to my Lenovo Yoga 12 laptop so any dirt on the countertop that is over 1/16 inch high could cause it to warp.
