Didn't work for me

Like some others, I really wanted to like the CPR V5000, especially since it had so many good reviews, but it has several glaring flaws. I'm an Electrical Engineer with 40 years of experience designing complex commercial, industrial and defense electronics, so configuring or troubleshooting electronic equipment is a breeze for me. When the standard configuration didn't work (Caller ID was regularly transmitted from the base station to my DECT cordless phones), I connected the device using the parallel configuration. While the device broadcast caller ID to all remote phones; When dialing a number, the device's display went completely blank, as if it was not supplied with the minimum operating voltage, and the outgoing number was not displayed. I've measured the voltage on my phone line at several places in the house, including the line that connects to my base station. All locations comply with FCC Part 68/TIA-968-A voltage ratings for both on-hook and off-hook conditions. However, the flaw that completely scuppered the deal was the inability to block calls that show "Out of Area" in the caller ID while still showing the area code in the phone number. There are other brands that do this as well. Also, having 5,000 landline numbers is only good as long as scammers and telemarketers keep using those numbers. Eventually these numbers will become obsolete and the only way to extend the usefulness of these types of devices is to either allow threat phone numbers to be updated regularly or to provide complex programming modes to cover known possible variations of caller ID names and phone numbers. While the CPR V5000 was easy to set up and use, it didn't offer a solid lock that met my needs, so I sent it back.
