Review on Olympus Camedia Digital Camera Optical by David Golden

Outstanding Compact Camera

This camera is just a fairy tale for us. We live in Bermuda, so we take a lot of nature photos - beach landscapes, foliage, macro photography of exotic flowers, etc. The colors in the photos are clear and saturated, and our shots are indistinguishable from actual shots on film. We print on the HP960c printer and use Kodak photo paper. The results are wonderful. To shoot indoors, the subject needs to be close - usually the flash can be a bit stronger with digital cameras. a little puzzling. However, I understand that this is typical of digital cameras (but not an issue with my previous Toshiba digital camera). BUT - I learned to set the focal length manually to take pictures quickly. The burst shooting function, which takes several shots in rapid succession, also helped a lot. We bought a rechargeable battery pack using Model 1700 batteries. Using the optical viewfinder and occasionally using the LCD to change commands, I was able to take and upload 180 high-resolution shots. quality level. Since the camera only needs 2 batteries, two charged spare batteries can easily be stowed in the bag. I used up the original lithium battery very quickly because when I first got the camera I tried all the features including shooting multiple movies and using the LCD a lot. Batteries are definitely the answer. I recommend getting a camera case that's specifically designed for the camera - it's compact and has a dedicated compartment for spare batteries. In addition to a 128MB smart memory card, 130 photos can be stored in high quality. In general we are enthusiastic. We also reviewed later Canon cameras but read reviews of poor autofocus. I haven't had a single blurry picture with this camera! The instructions could have been a bit more detailed, but Olympus online is very helpful. Next time I would like a larger optical zoom though. We use Windows XP and everything works fine with it. Much luck!
