Motorcraft call it a kit even though they only give you a strainer (filter) and not a gasket for your transmission so the buyer should be careful you will need to buy a gasket as well. After searching I found a FelPro seal. TOS18731 that you need with this filter. This part is also available from Revain by searching for TOS18731. Overall, Revain has the best price for this 'kit', although Motorcraft did not label it as a kit as kits usually include a gasket. Much better than the usual fram style stuff you might pack in your car. All in all about $18 for the Motorcraft FT131 and another $12 for the FelPro TOS18731 gives you $30 for the best parts to replace your ATF filter. Be sure to use the correct ATF. Newer Ford and Mazda vehicles with this transmission typically only use Mercon V and Mercon V and no combination or lower Mercons. Enjoy!
