Motorcraft FT131 Automatic Transmission Filter Review

Using the internet I was able to save $200 on a 2005 Ford Focus transmission oil change. Ordered this genuine Ford part which was a lot cheaper than the dealer. Would definitely buy again.

Because it was a Original Equipment (OE) filter for Motorcraft equipment. It was way cheaper than the dealer wanted. Revain service at the top as always. Received 2 days after order.

Replaced a filter I bought from a parts store thinking it was a bad design with the two halves poorly bonded or fused together. The filter can suck in air. No-no for your gear. This filter has a metal ring crimped around the two halves so there is minimal chance of air getting into the filter.

Motorcraft call it a kit even though they only give you a strainer (filter) and not a gasket for your transmission so the buyer should be careful you will need to buy a gasket as well. After searching I found a FelPro seal. TOS18731 that you need with this filter. This part is also available from Revain by searching for TOS18731.
