UPDATE: I REPLACED THE ACRYLIC TANK WITH A LARGE GLASS TANK and am still using this pump. It's hard to do. My husband has to constantly get it to restart after I unplug it to clean it or the tank. The filter does its job well enough, but this aspect of the reboot is enough to make me want to bring it back. Unfortunately I missed my window for that. This pump is very big. However, it fits in an acrylic tank that I have. The pipe that goes into the tank is so long it almost touches the sand. I think this pump should be used in a large tank, not as long as mine. But I can probably manage it. It didn't turn on when we first tried it, so my husband did. some . and started. The problem with him is that he keeps stopping. My husband then has to take it apart and do it. what he does. to make it work again. Then it stops again. Repeat the process and it will start again. I spent only 13 hours in the aquarium, and this scenario played out three times. If it stops again, I'll send it back.
