Let me start by saying that I use a lot of Aqueon products. This unit was even bought to replace the older Aqueon 75, whose case finally cracked after many years. I received 1 and almost immediately returned it and got another. The first one had an awful smell and was goddamn loud so I sent it back. After a thorough inspection I installed the whole thing in my 55 gallon aquarium. I'll admit my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but I didn't notice a crack in the floor upon examination. UPDATE: I REPLACED THE ACRYLIC TANK WITH A LARGE GLASS TANK and am still using this pump. It's hard to do. My husband has to constantly get it to restart after I unplug it to clean it or the tank. The filter does its job well enough, but this aspect of the reboot is enough to make me want to bring it back. Unfortunately I missed my window for that. This pump is very big.
